Spring Break is OVER!

I LOVE my husband and LOVE the time he can be home with Clayton and I. My three favorite times of the year are Summer Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break. Matt has LOTS to do within these next few weeks before he can actually breathe. My poor husband has been such a trooper trying to make Clayton and I's life so much better. Not only is he working full time as a Geometry teacher at Lamar High School, but he is also the head softball coach, and about to graduate with his master's in educational leadership from Harding University. I am SO proud of my husband. I know I have given him ALOT of heck these last few month about not being home, but I really do appreciate all the things he does for us.

For spring break we decided to head up to Norfork, AR to visit my dad, step-mom, and sister Brittney. The trip from Clarksville takes us about 4 hours to get there. I tried to pack as much as I could the night before we left and we planned on heading out by 4 p.m last friday. We left the house and got about four blocks down the road and Clayton threw up! No fun. We stopped and cleaned it up. I thought it was just because his daddy fed him a BUNCH of junk food before we left. We get to Hagarville and Rags (our shihtzu) threw up. We drive a little bit longer and Clayton decides he wants to eat and have mommy feed him, so we stop just 5 miles out of Hagarville. That is done and we get back on the road. We finally make it to Jasper and Clayton throws up AGAIN. He was not liking the car ride. We got him cleaned up and drove to Belefonte and eat at Sonic. He LOVED that because we gave him a Banana and Apple Juice and let him "drive" the car in the sonic parking lot...we were sitting still! I miss a turn and we end up 20 minutes out of the way and turn back around to hit Hwy 206?? Still not sure. We finally make it to Yellville and we stop yet again to let me go use the restroom and Clayton wanted me to sit in the back with him and let his daddy drive. From there on it was SMOOTH sailing...oh yeah he did throw up again the next day and I put him on a pedialyte diet for the rest of the weekend and he did much better! I still say he got car sick and his daddy thinks he was sick, sick but he did not have a fever...either way it is over. Here are a few pics from our weekend!

This was Sunday morning after Clayton started to feel better I remembered that I had my camera. Daddy took him on the deck in the warm sun! It felt GREAT and he had a ball!

The is the view off of Dad's deck. We have a lovely view of the Norfork water tower and Hwy 5. Just over that ridge is the river and the little town of Norfork, AR.

So earlier I told you that my son had been throwing up all weekend...well my dad's decided taht ice cream would make him feel better and surprisingly he was GREAT that day!

Clayton LOVED pushing the buttons on Pawpa's TV! He would turn it off and Dad would turn it on!

Clayton's Aunt Brittney thought it would be cute to teach Clayton to write. He LOVED it! He did not write much, but thought Brittney was a hoot! He Loves his Aunt!

After we left the hills of Norfork we headed to Morrilton to spend the week with Matt's parents and my grandparents at their lake house on Overcupp Lake. We had a ball there also! The only bad thing that happened was when we got to Matt's parents house their dog, who is about 8 months old jumped on Clayton's face and scratched his eyeball and right side of his head. She was excited to see people and jumped right on Clayton. I was pretty mad, but all I could do was cuddle my baby and from now on I know not to lay or put Clayton down until "spacey" Macy calms down. That is what we call her now.

Later on in the week we went out to the land my granparents own in Caney Valley, AR. Clayton got to sit on Papa's new tractor and ride the 4-wheeler for the first time. Daddy is not in these pics because he had to go to the store and work on his portfolio for graduation. So we took pics to show him what we did! Clayton was okay about it...really did not know what to expect about the whole thing!

Clayton and his oldest cousin, Paula!

Clayton's Nana (great-grandma) is holding him. He is about to get on the BIG tractor!

I had to display Papa's lean to on his lean to! It cracks me up! One side is for the 4-wheeler and the other side is for the tractor!

Here he is on the big tractor. He kept on wanting to stand up on the seat and hold the steering wheel and in the process he fell off so Nana got on it and put him IN the steering wheel! He LOVED it!

Here is his first time on the 4-wheeler. We never got out of first gear and all he could do was grunt!

This is what the boys did when we got home!
There are so many other things that we did this past weeken, like have his Easter pics and 10 month old pics done at Mike Little Photography, and he got to see Greg and Christy Parks who we had not seen in several months! I love those people! So that is our spring break in a nutshell. Not to short, but I can't write short stories...just ask my biology professor! Hope you enjoy it....we sure did!
